CFMEU
The CFMEU Victoria-Tasmania branch covers workers in the construction industry, working on and off building sites. We also have members working in maintenance, the power industry, boiler rooms, oil refineries and more.
If you want to be a member of a union that sticks up for workers and isn't afraid to take action, you need to be a member of the CFMEU.
The union's successful bargaining campaigns continue to deliver fair wages and better conditions like superannuation, redundancy pay and income protection. In 2000 this branch of the CFMEU won the 36 hour week, giving workers 26 paid days off a year.
The CFMEU never compromises on safety. We back up our workplace health and safety reps and give them the training they need to minimise risks to workers. In construction, you enforce your safety rights by being a member of the CFMEU.
The CFMEU believes strongly in training. Our accredited training and education unit runs courses in all aspects of construction work as well as first aid and industry induction. The unit also builds up our strength by training shop stewards.

Managing Director Bernard Mortimer began what is now Bradrod Building Services in 1977, providing contract plant room maintenance. As the company grew and began carrying out government contracts, Bernard broadened the scope of the business to include plumbing and building works.

Guzman y Gomez
Guzman y Gomez was founded in Sydney in 2006 by New Yorkers and childhood best friends Steven Marks and Robert Hazan. Steven, a former hedge fund manager and Robert, who had a background in fashion wholesale and retail, both missed the authentic fresh flavours of Mexican cuisine that they had grown up with in America.
After realising that there was a genuine gap in the Australian market for fresh, clean Mexican food, they decided to create their own restaurant named Guzman y Gomez to honour their childhood friends. Steven and Robert had a vision to build a restaurant business that had the speed and convenience of fast food but to re-invent the fast food category by serving high quality food.
They then set about ensuring the brand was authentic to its core and established GYG’s values which remain today. Every detail in establishing the brand was thought out. In addition to the franchising business, an ingredients supply operation was established, called United Network Suppliers, to support the retail bakeries. The headquarters of the business is now located in an office and warehouse complex at Fairfield East in Western Sydney (NSW Australia) and new franchisees are trained in the on-site bakery and retail store front.
Today the brand is synonymous with immaculately presented, hand-crafted delicious cakes, loved by a generations of Australians and New Zealanders.

United Lift Services was established in 1998 due to the market demand for a customer focused alternative to the International Elevator Companies operating in Australia. United Lift Services was founded, and remains run by today, qualified Lift Mechanics. This same company will then “advise” the customer that their unit is obsolete and requires a major upgrade to improve performance.
The United Lift Services approach is in complete contrast to this, our focus is on preventative maintenance with regular site inspections that allows us to view, listen and feel how a lift is operating and carry out specific maintenance tasks designed to reduce breakdowns, limit repairs and optimise operating times.
