Important Notice: Member cards

This year we have decided not to increase the bar prices. Rather, we want to make sure that non-SYCWSC members and visitors pay full price. Members get a ~10% discount, others pay more for their drinks.

To work out who is a SYCWSC member at the bar, members need to bring and use their Club membership cards to get their discount on drinks. Without a card, we cannot give you a discount. This will lead to some discussion with members, but it will guarantee extra bar profits for your club. It is probably the easiest thing we can do to grow bar revenues at no cost to members! Importantly, the use of member cards also assists us to comply with Liquor Licensing regulations.

We will start enforcing the use of cards at the bar from Thursday 26 April (Round 3).

This gives you some time to dig your member card up, and allows us some time to fine tune the system and educate bar staff.

How does it work?

You order your drinks and present your card. We swipe your card to apply the discount and hand you your card back.

Who are automatically entitled to a club card?

(SYCWSC) Life members, Coterie & 200 Club members, Senior players and parents of Junior players are automatically entitled to a Club card. Members of the Sunshine YCW Golf Club also receive a card.

Can I buy a club card?

Yes you can. They cost $25 and can be purchased over the bar on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It’s not expensive and you will be supporting both the Football and Sunshine YCW Sports Club.

I never received a card, or I have lost it. What do I do?

If members don't have a card, or you have lost it, please go to the bar and ask for your card, which you will be issued with instantly. We trust you agree that the introduction and active cards is in the best interests of your club.

If you have any questions, please speak to one of the Committee members.

Kitchen volunteers wanted

Your Committee would like to minimise costs of running the kitchen, and make sure we spread the work load across more members.

If we work together, then each volunteer would only need to do 2-3 shifts per season, whenever it suits you. Surely thats not too much to ask - and its fun to do!

We are organising a kitchen volunteer roster for Thursday meals, and Saturday/Sunday game days.

Support your club, and help out 2-3 times per season for a 2-hour shift! Thats all.

For those interested, please contact Jan Schwartz

Coterie Memberships

At our Club we have the privilege of having a wonderful group of people who are unwaivering in their support for our Club: The Coterie Group.

Although most Coterie members will see their contribution as a donation, the membership provides great value, including Presentation Night and MidYear Ball tickets, a 200 club draw number, exclusive merchandise, access to the annual marquee bbq and more.

Every year we have been able to grow our Coterie membership and this year we are getting very close to having 100 Coterie members. We need 15 new members to reach our goal, so we have attached our 2012 Coterie package for your consideration - We would love for you to join us in this exclusive group of members. All information is also available on the website.

NEW MEMBERS WELCOME

Players, parents & supporters, welcome to Season 2012

We welcome you and invite any new children and parents to register, find out more about our club, and meet our Junior coaches. This season we are looking to field U9, U10, U12, U14 and U16 teams as well as an U12 youth girls team, more information on the girls team will follow.

I am pleased to announce our Junior coaches for Season 2012:

U9:         Colin Green

We don’t know who gets more enjoyment out of U9 football, the players or Colin.  Hopefully with the grounding from the Kanga Acadamy the U9’s will hit the ground running from round 1.

U10:       Alex Weston

Alex is making the leap up from the U9’s and will also coach our U12 youth girls side when we get this up and running. Alex had his group starting to grasp the basics and like Dicko will be looking to build on that this season.

U12:       Gerard Dickinson

What can we say: 2012 Brimbank Citizen of the Year.
Dicko, previously assistant coach with younger groups, former head chef at the Kanga’s Thursday night Bistro and part time actor. Dicko will be looking to build on the growth the U11’s showed last season.

U14:       Michael O’Keefe

Michael is a past senior WRFL coach and Premiership player. Tocka’s knowledge is certain to help develop our some of our junior footballers, hopefully the premiership that elluded the U12’s a couple of years ago might eventuate this season.

U16:       Damian Reddin

Premiership Player with our reserves last season. Damien looks forward to take on his new role and pass his knowledge on to a group of promising footballers.
