Golden Kangaroo Partnership Program 2022 to 2026

From our local baker, restaurant, plumber to the corner laundromat, small businesses together go to make something far more valuable to the Sunshine Kangaroo’s Football Club community, other than anything they do or sell. They help build local communities that support our kids, youth and families.

The Local Sunshine Business Community contribute towards a third of our economic activity, keep thousands of local people in jobs and are responsible for paying wages to more than half of our workforce. They are vital to our everyday lives – especially now as the local economy looks to recover.

2020 and 2021 have been very tough for Sunshine and its immediate areas local businesses, and we want the Sunshine Kangaroo Football Club Families to keep showing our support. This is as simple as our members eating at or getting take-away from a local restaurant or café, buying our loved one’s a gift from a local shop, or liking and leaving positive reviews on our local GKPP businesses social media pages.

There are countless small ways in which the Sunshine Kangaroos Football Club and our 12,000+ players, members, families and friends are helping to support our GKPP local businesses by SHOPPING LOCAL!

With the above in mind, it is with pleasure that the Executive Committee of the Sunshine Kangaroos Football Club continue the “Golden Kangaroo Partnership Program (GKPP)” to support our local business community for the 2023/24 seasons with a further option to stay onboard yearly for the 2024/25 and 2026 Season.

In summary the “Golden Kangaroo Partnership Program” is designed to help the Sunshine Football Clubs 12,000+ players, members, family and friends achieve our goals and objectives over the next 5 years, whilst, supporting the Local GKPP Business Community around Sunshine and its immediate geographic areas.

The “Golden Kangaroo Partnership Program” is about one word: COMMUNITY and how the Sunshine Football Club and our members will partner with Local Businesses by backing them, supporting them and building their profile, by showcasing each of the “Golden Kangaroo Partner” business to and within our 12,000+ players, members, families and friends.

How the “Golden Kangaroo Partnership Program” Works:

• There will only ever be 100 x “Golden Kangaroo Partner” within Sunshine and its immediate geographic areas such as Sunshine West , Sunshine North, Braybrook, Ardeer, Cairnlea, Albion, Brooklyn, Tottenham and Maidstone etc.

• The “Golden Kangaroo Partnership Program” is an initial 24 -month partnership followed by an offer of a 2 + 1-year agreement between the Sunshine Football Club and our GKPP partners.

• The “Golden Kangaroo Partners” will be small to medium local businesses that will benefit greatly from a partnership with the Sunshine Football Club and its 12,000+ players, members, family and friends.

• Each of the “Golden Kangaroos” will be identified by a “Golden Kangaroo” Sticker predominantly fixtured within their place of business. (See above Sample)

• Our 12,000+ Sunshine Football Club players, members, family and friends are strongly encouraged to look for the “Golden Kangaroo” Sticker on local businesses shopfronts and support that business with our patronage on a regular basis be that daily, weekly and monthly.

• Sunshine Football Club will be actively promoting the list of “Golden Kangaroos Partners” names and business by way of our Electronic Formats re Social Media, Facebook, Website, Electronic Scoreboard and Monthly Newsletter and Event nights.

The Sunshine Football club is considered a hub of our community, and we are a focal point for community efforts in times of, crisis and celebration, whilst being considered by many as central to shaping the identity of the local community within the area of Sunshine. Our Football club leaders, on and off the field, are considered as community role models.
